So if it’s time to buy the best ATV for your kids, (so you can vicariously live that awesome off-road life through them obviously. Duh!) and it would be ideal if you could try as many as possible, especially the ones that you are thinking about buying. However, that’s just not possible with vehicles like this, which is why reviews like the one below are important. I can help you navigate the ATV 4 wheelers market so that you know which ones perform. If it’s not on our list, it’s not the best. Also, if you’re in the market for a great motorcycle, see what the best motorcycles have to offer so you can ride around with your kids in style.

It took me about 20 hours of research time, 35 hours of testing and I looked at over 40 different kid’s 4 wheeler models on the market today in order to determine that the Power Wheels Kawasaki KFX is the best 4 wheeler for kids. This ATV for kids has all of the stylings of a real ATV. It handles well on wet grass and other terrains, a durable build and it’s safe for your child. It looks as good as it performs.

Top 10 4 Wheelers For Kids Compared

#1  Power Wheels Barbie Kawasaki KFX – Best Kids 4 Wheeler for 2025

WHY WE LIKE IT: The Power Wheels Kawasaki KFX is the top choice thanks to a quality build, great design, and standout performance. Not only does this vehicle look like a fiery hot rod of an ATV that will make your kids drool, (believe me, they drool) but it also backs up that visual claim with great performance.

Pros
  • Has two speeds
  • Parental control
  • Handles rough terrain well
Cons
  • Battery must be removed to charge it
  • Plastic wheels feel cheap

The twist-grip throttle makes it easy to rev up and hit the top speed of 6 MPH. It has two speeds: 3 and 6 mph. These speeds are fast enough for a fun time for kids but slow enough that adults can stay nearby. This two-speed system is a parental control feature, so you can start them out at 3 MPH and when they’re ready, just adjust the speed so that they can hit the maximum speed of 6 mph.

This model performed well on hard surfaces, wet grass, gravel, and rough terrain. The kid that I had ride this one didn’t have any trouble with it getting stuck even after a rainstorm. It has a weight capacity of up to 65 pounds. Other features include a rechargeable 12-volt battery, wide tires for better grip, Power-Lock brake system that automatically stops the vehicle when your child’s hand leaves the throttle.

Related: Be sure to power your kid’s ATV with the best ATV battery so they can ride to their heart’s content.

The tires do a great job, however, they are plastic, so as time goes by they will get worn. Though after several hours of testing, I didn’t see any significant wear. I also didn’t like that I had to remove the battery to charge it. Aside from those two minor points(Plastic wheels and battery removal), this 4 wheeler performed great, beating other ATVs quads in the off-road department.

Kids love the adjustable speed feature. It’s nice to have a speed limiter when you need it. It’s a solid choice for kids with a safe speed. I also liked that the parental controls offer parents some added safety options. It’s the best all-around 4-wheeler for kids who want some riding excitement. This is an awesome electric motorcycle for kids.

#2  Razor Dirt Quad – Best 4 Wheeler For Older Kids

WHY WE LIKE IT: The kids loved this one! The Razor Dirt Quad ATV is a tough little quad for kids ages 8 and up. It has an average battery life of 250 charge/discharge cycles to ensure many many rides for your kids.

Pros
  • 10-12 MPH Max Speed
  • Holds Up To 120 Pounds
  • Great Tires for smooth ride
Cons
  • No Reverse Feature
  • Ranged performance and reliability suffered
  • High price for average internet users

Razor is known for making quality electric scooters and hoverboards(R). They also excel at making high quality 4 wheelers.

It features a twist hand grip accelerator and a hand operated rear disc brake. This ATV is the perfect choice for trails and rough terrain thanks to a superior rear suspension and coil shock that will absorb all of the bumps as you are off-roading. The 13″ pneumatic knobby tires also do their part, gripping the terrain and giving you a smooth ride. It supports riders up to 120 pounds.

My only complaint is that this youth ATV does not go in reverse. For the price and given the other outstanding features, being able to drive in reverse would have made this ATV near perfect. It still hits #2 on our list thanks to a great suspension, decent speed, a quality build and great performance on tough terrain. The Razor Dirt Quad bike shows why Razor is the champ when it comes to kid’s vehicles. They are also one of the companies that make the most fun and fastest hoverboard.

For Girls

We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock

WHY WE LIKE IT: If you’re looking for an ATV for your 8-year-old girl, this Quad 500W 36V has some great features. It’s not just for the girls, anyone can ride it. The girls will especially love the color and design. This model has a 36V battery and 500W motor that deliver great power and range.

Pros
  • 13 MPH Top Speed
  • Pretty In Pink, need I say more?
  • All-Terrain Rubber Tires
Cons
  • Charge Time Is 6 Hours

Other features include a disc brake system and 3-speed governor with reverse, all-terrain rubber tires, and a shock absorbent suspension. The maximum speed is 13 MPH which is excellent, but the downside here is that it takes 6 hours to charge the battery. It has a weight limit of 90 lbs and the ATV itself weighs 100 lbs.

You Might Like: Secure your helmet with the best motorcycle helmet lock around.

This is a solid kids electric ATV with decent power for off-road adventures. It is certainly geared more toward girls, but any young rider will have fun on this one. The design is great and so is the performance. Those qualities along with great speed and range make this quad a solid buy. If your child wants fewer wheels, check out the best hoverboard.

#4  Titan Outdoor Kids Children 24V White Mini Quad – Best Design

We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock

WHY WE LIKE IT: The Titan Outdoor Kids 24V Mini Quad has a design that boys are going to love and once they get on this electric toy they’ll fall in love with what it can do as well. It has several great features that helped it to make the list.

Pros
  • Great Design
  • Two Batteries Give Great Ride Time
  • Safe
Cons
  • Not For Younger Kids
  • Tires Should Be Fatter For Rough Terrain
  • 4-6 Hour Charge Time

It comes with a 24-volt rechargeable battery that offers 2 hours of uninterrupted run time. A powerful 350-watt motor delivers a top speed of 10 mph. The 13-inch knobby pneumatic tires do a good job of gripping terrain, but they really should be wider to really give you the best traction. Like other models, this one also boasts a parental speed control setting.

Front and rear suspensions make the ride a smooth one even on rough terrain. Other features on this model are automatic disc brakes, a powerful headlight, key start, and a maximum weight of 150 pounds so that it can hold a variety of riders.Kids didn’t like it’s 4-6 charge time and felt that this All Terrain Vehicle was powerful enough to warrant a bit of a faster charge.

However, they make up for this by having two batteries so that you can increase your ride time. This is a great youth ATV with some great features and is durable enough to take a beating. We really loved the design too. Another great option is the Peg Perego Polaris Outlaw, which is a fun and rechargeable product made in the United States and is safe to ride on grass, dirt, gravel, and pavement. You may alo like the best scooter for kids.

#5  Rosso Motors Kids ATV Kids Quad 4 Wheeler Ride – Best for Speed

We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock

WHY WE LIKE IT: This 500W 36V ATV is built to last and sports a great design that kids can’t resist. I really liked the suspension, which made the ride feel sweet. This is a solid buy for parents and a solid ride for kids.

Pros
  • Nice Shock-Absorbent Suspension
  • 13 MPH Top Speed
  • Three Speeds W/ Reverse
Cons
  • 6 Hour Charge Time

This company has been making a name for itself in the youth ATV market lately, offering some choice 4 wheelers for kids younger and older. (R) That’s why a few models made the cut.

They always sport great design, with an emphasis on safety. This vehicle continues this tradition with another fine 50cc kids four wheeler for ages 3 to 8.It has a bunch of great features like a chain transmission system, 500w motor, the ability to go in reverse 6” tires, 13 MPH top speed, front and rear disk brakes, hand throttle, three speeds, and durable construction that will stand up to rough terrain and your kids.

I liked almost everything about this vehicle. The suspension seemed especially nice, absorbing shocks like a champ. It has a long charge time at 6 hours, but the rest of the features make up for the wait. It also has a 90lb weight limit since it’s made for younger kids. Older kids are just going to slow it down. Also, read about gas powered scooters.

#6  Power Wheels Lil’ Quad Featuring Disney Minnie, Mouse – Best ATV For Toddlers

WHY WE LIKE IT: Power Wheels is a Fisher-Price brand that offers a variety of electric vehicles for your kids. They have a tried and true safety track record that you can trust when it comes to your child’s well-being.

Pros
  • Easy For Kids To Get On/Off
  • Simple Stop and Go
  • Safe 2 MPH Speed
Cons
  • No Reverse

These vehicles are a great way to sharpen a child’s motor skills and they design them with that in mind.

And if you want to start them off riding an electric ATV at an early age, the Power Wheels Lil’ Quad is the perfect way to do that. It has a push button start and stop and runs at a slow speed of 2 MPH that won’t be too fast for toddlers. In back there’s storage for small items. It has a padded handlebars section so that your child will be safe if they bump their head.

Since this battery-powered rideon ATV is low to the ground your child can get on and off easily. This Fisher Price Power Wheels ride gets bogged down on grass, but it rides nicely on asphalt, wood or concrete.

This is a great way for your child to get into 4 wheeling. The company makes many versions, like the popular Kawasaki Lil Quad, Powerwheels Hot Wheels and others. For older kids, read about the best electric scooter.

#7  Power Wheels Dune Racer – Best Two Kid 4 Wheeler

WHY WE LIKE IT: When it comes to fun electric toys for young kids, Power Wheels knows what they are doing. The Power Wheels Dune Racer is a safe and fun battery powered ride for not one, but two kids aged 3-7 years old.

Pros
  • Holds 2 Kids
  • Has Reverse
  • Power Lock Brakes
Cons
  • Doesn’t Make Sharp Turns
  • Doesn’t Fit Taller Kids
  • Massive Charge Time

Many older kids are riding this ATV as well. Taller kids just don’t fit inside, however. Now they won’t have to fight over who gets to go for a ride. This model works great on all surfaces, whether it be concrete, wet grass, or rough terrain. Your kids will hit speeds of 2.5 and 5 mph forward and it can go 2.5 mph in reverse.

It has a Power Lock Brake System and a design that kids love. The only problem here is that it takes about 14 hours to charge that battery and you only get an hour or so of ride time. My advice is to buy an extra rechargeable battery.

This kids electric vehicle makes it totally worth it because it is super fun. I just wish they had shipped it with two batteries, to begin with, but we do not hold it against this stylish 2-seater kids electric ATV. Your child might also like the best kids motorized electric scooters.

#8  Mountopz 3050C ATV – Best 4 Wheeler For Kids That Adults Can Enjoy

We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock

WHY WE LIKE IT: The Mountopz 3050C is on the expensive side, but it’s my pick for the best 4 wheeler made for kids that adults will also love.

Pros
  • All-terrain rubber tires
  • Great Suspension
  • Disc Brake System
Cons
  • Expensive
  • 6 Hour Charge Time

This one is a kids gas powered ATV rather than battery operated. Adults can always buy their own adult ATVs, but why do that when you can use this one with your kid?

It has a powerful automatic transmission, a 4 stroke 110 cc motor that is air cooled to prevent overheating. That 4 stroke engine also delivers high torque with a top speed of 25 miles per hour. The braking system is top notch and the rear one uses a hydraulic disc system. One of the coolest features is a remote control kill-switch for safety and a speed governor.

Those are two nice safety features. I normally see either one or the other, but this model has both. Great road abilities, no matter what kind of road you are on.The construction is solid and tough. This ATV will last you a long time. It has a durable double A-arm front suspension and a single rear suspension.

There’s also has a headlight for night use. Its 150-pound weight capacity means that older kids and many adults can get in on the action. This is more than just a streamlined ride on toy. This is a powerful gas powered vehicle. I love the added safety that the kill switch offers and it won me over with performance. However, it is pricey. Adults and older kids have found their perfect utility ATV in this model. It’s among the best 110cc ATVs. Also check out 50cc scooters.

#9  Brings 110cc ATV 4 Wheeler Fully for Kids – Best Speed Demon

We’re sorry, this product is temporarily out of stock

WHY WE LIKE IT: With 110cc of powers this bad boy can hustle. It also include an automatic transmission, rear hydraulic disc brakes and all at a reasonable price (provided you, the parent, might be taking it for a spin or two).

Pros
  • Rear hydraulic disc brakes for stopping power
  • Powerful 4 Stroke 110cc Motor
  • Has a remote Kill Switch For Safety
Cons
  • Expensive

Much like the Mountz bike, adults kind ride this ATV as well. It’s fully featured and ready for the trails (or back yard). It’s a great bike to ride on as well, provide your kid has ridden before and this isn’t their first go around.

The read include Hydraulic Disc Brake which means extra stopping power and ones that are dependable. There is also a remote control cut off in case your tike doesn’t like that it’s time to shut it down.

For added adult like feel there is a luggage rack in the rear. Moreover, they’ve built this things in house, which means cost is reasonable considering what you’re getting. The convenient electric start and smooth automatic transmission overall makes handling this model much easier. This way, your kids can focus more on having fun, making this 4 wheeler one of the best choices on the market today.

So if you’re looking for a real deal ATV that you and your kid can enjoy, this is it definitely a top pick.

WHAT FEATURES MATTER WHEN BUYING A BEST KIDS ATV?

10 Of The Best 4 Wheelers For Kids in [year]

To determine which youth ATV was the top-rated on the market of 2025, I gathered a massive amount of data on all of the latest models. If any had terrible consumer reviews I ditched those as well as any that were not safe. Then to narrow my list down even further, I analyzed their cost, speed, and range to find the best of the best.

Price: This list of kids ATVs ranged in price from $85 to $595, with our top pick costing $262 and our #2 pick costing $398.

Range: At the top end of the price range, you get a max range of 30 miles and a fun 25 mph top speed.

Speed: The slowest youth ATV on our buying guide is 2 mph, while the shortest range is about 1 hour of runtime.

Kid’s 4 Wheeler Buyers Guide

Below are the top features you should look for in a kid’s 4 wheeler.

  1. Your Child’s Safety Comes First
Safety should be your priority. You want to buy a 4 wheeler that will be fast enough for your child to have fun, but not so fast that they get hurt. For kids 3-5 years old a top speed of 5 MPH is a good idea. This is slow enough that you can walk beside them and keep them safe. For kids above 5 years old, you will have to use your parental discretion and work with your child to determine what they can handle. Look for other safety features like parental speed control, or a kill switch (So you can shut the engine off should they take a spill). Always make sure that your child is wearing the proper safety gear like a helmet as well as knee and elbow pads.
  2. Tires
Whether you are buying an ATV for your toddler or for a teen, you want to choose something with wide treaded tires so that they grip the terrain firmly, making it less likely that it will flip over at higher speeds. Plastic is just fine for younger riders going only 5 MPH, but for higher speeds, you want quality rubber or air-filled tires. If your child is riding on the sidewalk, smaller tires are fine, but for off-road you want larger tires with more tread. Air-filled tires offer the smoothest ride, but you will need to pump them up now and then. A good suspension system works hand in hand with your tires, keeping you from feeling every bump and making sure that your vehicle keeps a low center of gravity. So pay attention to the suspension.
  3. Battery Life and Charging Times
We all want longer battery life, but you have to balance battery life with speed, performance and charge time. You want is a long battery life that also delivers the speed that you want as well as charging times that you can live with. Charging times vary with each model and you will have to choose one that suits your needs. Don’t buy a vehicle that will make you wait 8 hours to charge your battery if it is only going to give you 1 hour of riding time.
  4. Choose The Proper Range For Your Situation
The range that your vehicle delivers on a single charge is very important. You want the best range you can get from your battery, just like you want the best gas mileage in your car. Aim for a great range with short charging times.
  5. Durable Construction
Like any other vehicle, one of your top concerns for an ATV should be durability. You want a tough and rugged frame that will last. It needs to stand up to off-road riding as well. A durable build means that it will have a longer lifetime.
  6. A Powerful Motor
The more powerful the motors, the more powerful your vehicle is. A 100 cc motor is more powerful than a 50cc motor. The better the motor, the more speed and better performance you will get.
  7. Weight
Even though you are riding your vehicle most of the time, there are times that you need to pick it up and move it. Maybe you are putting it in the garage after the battery died or packing it in the car. You want a vehicle light enough to move around on its own with no power.
  8. Assembly
Most 4 Wheelers require some assembly before you can start riding them, but don’t worry, these are simple things that most adults can handle easily. For instance, you may have to secure the handlebars to the frame by inserting and tightening two bolts. You may have to do the same with the wheels, reflectors, fenders etc. It’s very easy to put the pieces together and manufacturers almost always provide instructions. If in doubt, YouTube is a great place to get your answers.

THE TOP KIDS ATVS BRANDS

The global market for All-Terrain Vehicles is growing at a fast pace and demand is predicted to cross beyond the 1 million units mark by 2024 (R). Youth ATVs are leading those sales figures, from brands like Power Wheels, Razor, Kawasaki, Choice Products, Titan, Taotao Kids and many more. Youth ATVs range from toddler ride on vehicles to powerful 4-wheelers that your teens will enjoy. Many of today’s youth ATV brands, like Razor, already have a history of manufacturing quality hoverboards and scooters, so they are trusted kid vehicle producers with a history of products that anyone can look at on Amazon, while others are newcomers hoping to prove themselves in the space.

The Power Wheels Kawasaki KFX is a kid’s ATV that has great performance, a solid style, and durability. It also handled some varied terrain with ease. Combining those attributes with a top speed of 6 MPH, this is a solid choice that will make kids happy.

HOW I PICKED THE TOP 4 WHEELERS FOR KIDS

To determine which was the top rated 4 wheeler for kids on the market in 2025 (see more about our top picks for the latest vehicles on the market today), I began by eliminating any 4 wheelers with poor consumer reviews. Then got rid of any models with a questionable safety record. Safety is always a top priority for our reviews. Especially fire safety.

After that, I created analyzed the cost, speed, durability, ease of use, performance and Amazon reviews so that I could narrow our list to the top picks here. I worked with some kids to make sure that everything was tested by an actual child and between myself and these testers, all of the bases were covered. These ATVs had to be ridable, safe and have features that these kids could use easily.
