It functions not only as a TV but also as a smart hub you can use to keep all of your devices connected. Devices that use HDMI are perfect because this Samsung Smart TV has four HDMI 2.0 ports total. Like the best computer monitors, this monitor has a lot to offer.

Performance
You can expect to receive an excellent performance from the Q80R. The flat QLED VA panel (powered by Quantum Dot technology) delivers crystal clear pictures at a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K). The screen offers a wide viewing angle for a VA panel, which helps reduce glare on the display and makes the screen easier to see from the side. It uses FreeSync VRR and has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. There is very little input lag when playing video games, especially in game mode.

Viewing Angle
The viewing angle on this TV is much better than you would expect from a TV using a VA panel. This is thanks to the inclusion of Samsung’s “Ultra-Viewing Angle” technology, which maintains a clear image & colors at extreme angles while also helping reduce glare. This model also has an anti-glare coating on the screen so using the monitor in a bright room shouldn’t present too much of an issue on the 55” screen (for a larger screen, check out the Sony X900H 85 Inch TV: 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV).
Durability
This TV is very well-made, so you shouldn’t have any trouble with the build quality. The monitor is supported by a metallic two-leg setup, which isn’t very pretty, but it is very functional. Each leg has a removable piece on the back which can be used to run cords through. You can control this TV with the remote control, but it also has five buttons in the middle of the TV right under the Samsung logo that you can use as well.

Ports & Expandability
With 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB ports, optical audio out, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an ethernet port, you shouldn’t have any trouble hooking this smart TV up to your favorite devices. It doesn’t have Google Assistant, but it does have Bixby built-in for voice control and also works with Amazon Alexa (the Sony X950H is also Alexa compatible). You can use the included stand or set the TV up on a wall mount. Unfortunately, this model won’t work with the Samsung No-Gap mount so you will need to get a VESA 400×300 wall mount.
Value
While the Samsung Q80R does provide excellent performance and picture quality, it is very overpriced when compared to other options on the market (for example, the Hisense 55H8G, which costs $529.99, is a far cheaper option). This is common with Samsung TVs though, so remember that you are also paying for the brand name. You can get this TV sent to your house with a scheduled delivery for free, but as usual, you will have to pay extra should you decide to return it. There was no warranty information provided for the TV.
Samsung Q80R TV Wrap Up
This Samsung Q80R TV is no doubt overpriced, but that doesn’t take away from the excellent performance of the device. While it is not the best TV offered by Samsung, it comes extremely close performance-wise. If you have the money to invest and want a TV that you can use for both watching Netflix and playing COD, then the Q80R could be a worthwhile purchase for you.
