Apple’s Repair Program

Back in 2019, before the new Apple phones hit the market, the company launched their Independent Repair Program in the U.S, Canada, and Europe. Then, in early 2021, Apple announced that it was expanding its program to other countries where they were selling their products – 200+ countries.

Companies across the world are now able to provide the same level of quality services to their customers. In addition, every program participant can receive free training from Apple and access to genuine product parts that Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP) use. Apple’s Growing Repair Program

Although some companies have been participants of the AASP program, most felt that the program is limiting. So, does the independent program offer more? First of all, the AASPs provide repair services for every Apple product, whether covered or not under warranty.

On the other end, the independent program allows a technician to service only out-of-warranty products. The major advantage of the independent program is that companies in this program can perform UNAUTHORIZED repairs using third-party parts and genuine parts from Apple. In addition, you can serve the needs of the customers as long as you disclose this information before repairs. This was a very positive step especially after the Apple slowing down iPhones lawsuit.

Application Requirements for the Apple Repair Program

To qualify for the program, you have to be running a business with commercial documentation that Apple can review. To perform the repairs of Apple products, you need to conduct them in a commercial zone and not at your home addresses. Most importantly, it would help if you had a technician who has gone through the Apple certification exam. It is even more important to have every technician at your shop go through the exam because there is no cost for participating in the exam.
