If the best smartphone in your mind is one that’s the best rugged smartphone, then you might be interested in what the Doogee S95 Pro has to offer. For starters, its chipset is pretty darn snappy, though not the best. It’s also rocking one of the highest ingress ratings you can get on a phone.

Why We Like It – Doogee S95 Pro

Sporting a good chipset and high ingress rating, the Doogee S95 Pro certainly is a rugged device, and uniquely equipped with the ability to add modular accessories to the back for improving aspects like battery and speakers.

Pros
  • IP68/IP69K ingress rating
  • Helio P90 is a good chipset
  • Has a modular design
Cons
  • Display quality is average
  • Accessories sold separately

Overall Performance

Considering the S95 Pro is essentially a smartphone for rugged individuals, it’s particularly good at taking pictures. It has a triple camera system, which is common nowadays. Its rear camera is 48-megapixels, and sharing the space is a 2MP and two 8MP sensors (one is ultra-wide angle). Pictures are high quality, sharp, clear, and good contrast; however, colors are a bit muted. Its front camera is an impressive 16MP. Running the show is a Helio P90 octa core chipset. If you’re into titles like PUBG Mobile, you’ll be pleased it runs incredibly smooth—without stuttering—on medium settings.

Battery Life

The Doogee S95 Pro Mobile Phone is a monster in the power department, making full use of its 5150mAh battery. You’ll get nearly all-day power. There’s even a battery module you can attach to the back to increase its battery power even further.

Display

Having a 6.3-inch screen is going to be great, and 2.5 times bigger than the Unihertz Atom. It skirts the line of what a single hand can handle. But one look at the display and you’ll see its averageness. It isn’t particularly colorful, though clean and outputs in 2160×1080, so it’s at least FHD+. You won’t get a great display that a phone like Samsung Galaxy A50 can offer you but this phone’s display works great for a rugged phone.

Durability

What’s unique about Doogee S95 Pro Cell Phones is the ingress rating. Like the Ulefone Armor 7, it reaches IP68/IP69K. It’s also been MIL-STD810G tested, adding additional ruggedness to its design (like a flap for the Type-C port). It isn’t a lightweight either; the metal frame gives it extra weight.

Value

The greatest value the Doogee S95 Pro offers is its versatility; however, its accessories are sold separately. Like the Doogee S90, you can clip on different attachments—a battery pack, speaker, and so on. It’s why it’s often referred to as a “modular rugged phone,” because its attachments are called “modules.” Yes, you do have to buy them separately, but the S95 is already affordable.

Doogee S95 Pro Wrap Up

Despite an average display, the Doogee S95 Pro is a great device. It aims for performance elsewhere, while keeping its processes running smoothly with the P90 chipset. You can see this with its extra hardy durability and an IP68/IP69K ingress rating. Modules are, sadly, sold separately, but it’s so affordable it’s worth the extra cost.
