This Asus Full HD LED monitor is one of the best external monitors in the market. This is thanks to its compact 22-inch screen size, and its quick 5ms response time that ensures a lot less ghosting and better image quality. One of the unique features that the monitor has is its Splendid Video Intelligence Technology. It works to enhance image fidelity by fine-tuning sharpness, color, contrast and brightness. Viewing angles on the Asus VS228H-P are also a lot better than what you’ll get from other monitors thanks to its Smart View Technology. This allows users to adjust the color parameters so that the picture looks good from whichever angle you’re viewing at. Why We Like It – Asus VS228H-P

The Asus VS228H-P is one of the most pocket friendly monitors you can find. The LCD monitor comes packed with a 1080p Full HD resolution, a swift 75Hz refresh rate for less screen tearing, and an aspect control setting that lets you choose either 16:9 or 4:3 as your preferred aspect ratio.

Pros
  • 75Hz refresh rate for less screen stutter
  • 5ms response time
  • Full HD screen resolution at 1080p
Cons
  • Lack of AMD FreeSync technology
  • Cannot handle HDR content

Performance

The Asus VS228H-P has an amazing contrast thanks to a specialty unique to Asus monitors known as the Asus Smart Contrast Ratio, and for this Asus monitor, the dynamic contrast ratio stands at 10000000:1. This feature helps deliver the best color quality & contrasts by adjusting the luminance of the monitor’s backlight according to the content on screen. Unfortunately, as a result of its lack of HDR support, this monitor is outclassed by the Lepow USB-C portable monitor, but its fast response time and decent refresh rate should help in balancing things out.

Design

The Asus VS228H-P keeps things nice and simple. It comes in black, and has a sturdy stand to keep it well in place on top of a desk. The stand is also easily detachable, allowing for the monitor to be VESA mounted on a wall. If this doesn’t sound too good because you’re more interested in portability, you might want to look at the Newsoul 15.6 inch portable monitor. The Asus VS228H-P has good tilting angles that allow for easy adjustment, and can be secured against theft with a Kensington anti-theft lock. This display is however limited in terms of its connectivity options. It comes with only 1 DVI port, 1 HDMI port and 1 D-Sub port.

Value

The Asus VS228H-P has a better resolution than the AOC e1659fwu, and comes with technology that helps keep you safe as you use it. Its Asus EyeCare Technology is one such example. It uses smart dynamic backlight adjustment to reduce flickering. The Asus monitor also features an anti-glare panel that dissipates reflected light, and allows you to see what’s on the screen much better. Those that go on to purchase the monitor will also benefit from the Asus Rapid Replacement guarantee where the cost of shipping gets covered by the manufacturer. On the other hand, power consumption by this monitor is also kept at low levels, with the monitor taking up only 25 Watts with average use.

Asus VS228H-P Wrap Up

Aside from its technical features, the Asus VS228H-P upholds various environmental standards in a bid to keep our surroundings safe, and spots a mercury-free LED backlight panel to avoid environmental pollution. All in all, the Asus VS228H-P is a great monitor to go for if you’re just getting started out as a gamer and don’t have too much money to spend. It’s also a good choice as a decent display for office use, but only if the 22-inch screen size isn’t that much of a bother.
