BenQ 4K TK800M Projector Design
BenQ put some thought into this new BenQ TK800m 4K projector. The TK800M comes with a backlit remote control that is handy for dark rooms, which is a nice touch, as is the blue front of the unit, making it stand out from the crowd of boring white competitors. This definitely catches the eye. It also has some basic controls on the top of the unit for when things aren’t dark and you don’t have the remote. This can come in handy too when night comes and you’re using it as an outdoor projector.
It has a small speaker, but it won’t give you a cinema sound. As with most other home entertainment projectors, you will want to connect external speakers through a receiver. Or use a soundbar. It does make a bit of noise but seemed quieter than the HT2550.

There’s no lens shift here, but it does have an extendable foot at the front bottom to adjust the height of the image. While this can cause keystone distortions, the TK800 has auto-correction, so it couldn’t be easier to set up quickly.

BenQ TK800M Performance
I tested the BenQ TK800M in daylight, low light and as dark as possible conditions at night and the image quality didn’t disappoint in any of those environments. It does better than most models in bright conditions naturally, thanks to those lumens. You can play with the modes and see which one works for you in various light conditions. I found that Vivid TV mode worked best when I couldn’t get the room dark enough, for instance, giving me accurate color. You won’t fail to get great image integrity and color.

Cinema Mode was the absolute best for dark rooms though, if you want a true cinema experience. Add HDR and it delivers some amazing images and vivid colors. This projector really does make your room into a private movie theater. Especially when watching 4K content and sports. It is breathtaking. Watching sports is always good.
I tested it with streaming movies, Blu-rays, Ultra Blu-rays, a PS4, and Xbox One. When 4K gaming, I didn’t see any noticeable lag either, which was a pleasant surprise. I also found this model to be quieter than the previous BenQ models that I’ve tested. The 4k color wheel and cooling fan make some noise, but not a lot.
BenQ TK800M Bottom Line & Review Wrap Up
I can safely say that I was blown away by this home cinema projector. BenQ TK800m 4K HDR video looks amazing. It is one of the best that I have tested. I spent about 20 hours with it all told, and just got lost in what I was watching. The colors are beautiful and vivid, and the blacks are not perfect, but the rest of this projector is near perfect and it is very versatile.
That optical zoom makes it great for almost any size room and is easy to set up and use. This 4K UHD 3840×2160 projector is proof that today you don’t have to spend a fortune to get cinema-quality entertainment at home. It is hard to resist the price.
My verdict is to get it right now so that you can start enjoying it. This is one of those home theater projectors that can definitely replace the TV for many people. You gotta love that true 4K UHD from a projector with an easy setup.
