After considering the best curling iron wand sets on the market today, we nominated the Bestope 5-in-1 curling wand as our Top Pick. While it’s the only preset heat wand in our guide, we did like that it came with five wands which included a bubble wand, as well as a heat resistant glove for added safety. As one of the key hair tools in your list of bathroom essentials, a curling iron will help you create curls and waves using different methods.
To determine the best curling iron wand set, we looked at the following features: barrel size, temperature control, wand material, safety, and clip versus clipless. We know that a good set should feature a wide range of sizes while giving you maximum control to precisely adjust the wand temperature. However, the right wand material can directly impact how easily you can style your hair. And finally, safety always matters so we prioritized options that offered more safety features. Coupled with the quick 30-second heat feature that lets you adjust between 180 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (80 to 230 degrees Celsius), it’s easy to see why we’re nominating this set as the Best Quality pick and the best curling iron that won’t damage hair.

#4 CkeyiN 5 in 1 Ceramic Curling Iron Wand Set
Award: BEST ON A BUDGET
WHY WE LIKE IT: A very affordable five-piece kit that offers two heat settings and safety accessories makes this the best curling iron for beginners.
- Excellent for beginners and includes safety accessories
- Tourmaline ceramic barrels
- 360-degree rotating cord
- Limited to two heat settings
If you’re just getting into the world of curling wands, you might not be ready to invest in a more expensive set. For that reason, we selected this five wand set from CkeyiN as our Best on a Budget recommendation. While it’s more simplistic thanks to the two limited heat settings, we think this kit still has plenty of features to give you an idea of whether curling wands are for you. And that’s why we think this is the best curling iron for beginners.
This tourmaline ceramic wand set features five wands that range in size from a half-inch to an inch and a quarter in diameter. However, this kit lacks a bubble wand. We still like that with the two heat settings, you get a low setting at 300 degrees Fahrenheit and a high setting at 410 degrees. Plus, you also get a heat resistant glove, for safety. And as is also standard, these wands are made from tourmaline ceramic to reduce frizz and help your hair retain moisture and shine. #5 Entil 5 in 1 Curling Iron Wand Set
Award: BEST FOR TRAVEL
WHY WE LIKE IT: A set that reaches heat as high as 450 degrees Fahrenheit, and shipping with a heat-resistant travel pouch, making this the perfect choice for those on the go.
- Longest cord in our guide at over 8 ft
- Includes heat-resistant protective travel pouch
- Temperature range from 180 to 450F
- Some users may not like the clip barrels
- Ceramic-only barrels
Thick and coarse hair needs a higher heat. So a curling wand that can reach higher temperatures is an essential feature. This Entil curling wand set can reach temperatures as high as 450 degrees Fahrenheit. This five-wand set includes the popular bubble wand, but also offers two clip wands with larger barrels that are an inch and an inch and a quarter in diameter. Some people may view this as the best of both worlds since it takes much of the work out of using a curling wand.
Other essential — but somewhat standard — features that we loved with the Entil set include the LCD temperature display that’s adjustable from 250 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and the 360-degree rotating power cord. But you’ll also like that this kit comes with a heat resistant travel pouch that closes securely with a zipper and a heat resistant glove. However, it’s important to note that these barrels are only ceramic rather than the tourmaline ceramic material featured in the other picks in our guide. Doing your hair in your best-lighted makeup mirror will now become hassle-free. #6 Laluztop 6 in 1 Curling Iron Wand Set
Award: BEST HANDS-FREE WANDS
WHY WE LIKE IT: A tourmaline set of wands that feature clips on the wider barrels for improved control during operation while providing the best protection for your hair.
- Convenient 360-degree rotating power cord
- Larger barrels feature clips for easier use
- Easily switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit

We think the Laluztop six wand set is the best clip set in our guide because it combines some of the best features from all of the products we reviewed without breaking the bank.
We like that the wands are made from tourmaline ceramic, that you get three large barrels (three-quarters of an inch, one inch, and one and quarter inches) that include clips for greater controls, the fact that youcan toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and the wide temperature range from 176 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (80 – 230 degrees Celsius).t. Plus, we like the safety features such as a 30-second heat time, a 60-minute automatic shut-off, and anti-scald tips on all but the bubble wand.
How We Decided
Curling wands are a great way to quickly style your hair if you’re not a fan of using traditional rollers. To create our guide, we focused on the following features — barrel sizes, temperature control, material, safety, and clip versus clipless.
You’ll note that in our guide, only one pick (our top pick) lacked temperature controls. It came preset at 410 degrees whereas the remainder of our selections could be adjusted usually between 170 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. However, we did have two selections (best quality and #7) that can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature displays.
The barrel sizes that are included with a wand set are also important. Generally speaking, these sets offer a range of sizes between a half-inch to as large as an inch and a quarter in diameter. However, only the best on a budget pick lacked the popular bubble wand which is an easy way to create curly styles. The number of barrels included usually ranged from five to seven wands. And along with barrel widths, we also considered whether a set included clip wands. While it’s a personal preference whether you like using clip wands, our #6 and #7 picks included clip wands.
You’ll note that in our guide, the majority of the wand sets were made from tourmaline ceramic materials. Only our #6 was made from just ceramic — which holds high heat well but may struggle with issues such as moisture retention.
And finally, safety is a very important feature. All of the picks in our guide came with heat resistant gloves. This is essential so you won’t burn your fingers as you curl your hair. But our honorable mention, #6, and #7 sets came with travel pouches, which make those options more travel-friendly.
Curling Iron Wand Set Buyer’s Guide
The Most Important Factors to Consider
- Barrel Sizes
Curling wands are essential curling irons without the clamp. But when you invest in a curling wand set, you usually receive multiple barrels in varying sizes that can be swapped out and connected to the base of the unit. Wand sizes can vary but standard options range between a half-inch diameter to as large as two inches in diameter. Many sets also come with what’s known as a bubble barrel which is a goof-proof way of ensuring that you’re creating the perfect curls. As a general rule, narrower barrels are best for all hair lengths while barrels larger than an inch are best for medium to long hair. - Temperature Control
Just like curling irons, a quality curling wand should feature adjustable temperature control. The most common temperature range will go as low as 150 or 170 degrees Fahrenheit to as hot as 410 to 450 degrees. Keep in mind that depending on the state of your hair and the texture, a wand set that can achieve a consistent higher heat may be preferable. If you’re unsure of what temperature to use on your hair, always opt for a curling wand set that features an adjustable temperature. Using too little heat won’t produce the desired style, and too much heat can damage your hair. - Wand Material
The wand itself can impact how easily you can curl your hair or protect your hair from unintended damage. The most common options include ceramic, tourmaline, titanium, and gold-plated. Coarser or thicker hair is best curled with gold-plated or titanium irons as these can produce and maintain a high and even heat. But for most hair types and textures, tourmaline or ceramic wands should be sufficient. - Safety
Considering that you’re using an extremely hot tool right next to your face, safety matters. Common features you should look for include auto-shutoff, cool-touch ends, included heat resistant gloves, and a heat resistant pouch to store your wand safely while it cools. An auto-shutoff function usually triggers after the device has been on for 30 to 60 minutes. 60 minutes maybe preferable depending on the length of your hair and how long it takes you to work through your hair. Cool touch ends will protect your fingers as you work with the wand. And a heat resistant glove ensures that you won’t accidentally burn your hand or fingertips as you wind your hair around the wand, while a heat resistant pouch gives you a safe place to set your wand down after you’ve finished styling your hair. - Ease of Use
Using a curling wand can come with a bit of a learning curve, especially if you’re used to a traditional curling iron. To make it easier, look for wands that feature a rotating base so that you aren’t getting caught up in cords as you work through your hair. Likewise, make sure that swapping out the interchangeable barrels is easy — but that they’re secure once you’ve attached them. - Clip vs. Clipless
While not as common, some curling wands do come with clips. This can be ideal if you hate having to hold the hair in place as you work around your head. If you feel more confident or comfortable using a clip style iron, then this will be an important feature to consider.
