Gigabyte Aero 15 Gaming Laptops sport some of the best battery life for a thin and light gaming laptop that we’ve ever seen. Not only that, the 4K OLED display is the best we’ve seen in a laptop thus far. It’s poor webcam positioning is unfortunate though. Especially if you’re planning to stream yourself playing games. But other than that, it is the one of the best gaming laptops.

Why We Like It – Gigabyte Aero 15

The Gigabyte Aero 15 is a powerful laptop that will make mincemeat out of the most graphically-demanding games thanks to the powerful CPU and GPU. The 16GB of RAM will also ensure that, should it have the need for multiple applications running, slowdown will be non-existent.

Pros
  • Good Battery Life
  • Expansive Port Selection
  • 4K OLED Screen
Cons
  • Poor Webcam Positioning
  • 60Hz Refresh Rate

Power/Performance

The Gigabyte Aero 15 is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor, an Nvidia RTX graphics card GeForce 2070 Max-Q, and 16GB of RAM. The laptop should be able to play most high-end games, such as Tomb Raider, easily. And with 16GB of RAM it can also handle all sorts of open applications without losing speed. The machine does come with a Core i9 version, but it costs more money. In terms of high end, graphical gaming performance, check out the Acer Predator Triton 500 RTX 2060. Battery

The Gigabyte Aero 15 may earn the distinction of being the gaming laptop with the best battery life. It clocks in at about nine hours, which is well beyond the average for gaming laptops. Of course, this is highly dependent on what you use the laptop for. Pure gaming will drain the battery, while doing some simple processing should make it last longer. You can also check out the Razer Blade Stealth 13.3 for another example of a gaming laptop with great battery life.

Ports/Expandability

The machine boasts a number of useful ports. On the left, there’s an HDMI 2.0 port, one USB C port, one USB 3.1 port, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet port. The rhas the power jack, an SD card slot, one Thunderbolt 3 port and two USB 3.1 ports. With such an expansive port selection on-the-go gaming should be a breeze. Check out the Asus Rog Zephyrus S Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop for another example of a port-friendly laptop.

Build Quality

At five pounds, the laptop is light enough to carry around with you and it’s slimness makes it that much more comfortable. Unfortunately, the webcam is located on the hinge at the bottom of the screen. Speaking of screen, the laptop boasts an incredible 4K OLED display that completely rips through the color gamut, in a good way, making mincemeat out of hard-to-display colors. Value

Continuing on the theme of display, the Gigabyte Aero 15 sports a 60Hz refresh rate. It may be a little low compared to other laptops in its class, but combining it with the amazing OLED screen should get you playing high end games just fine. It also comes with the Microsoft Azure AI operating system which automatically optimizes the laptop’s gaming performance by adjusting power distribution between the CPU and GPU.

Gigabyte Aero 15 Wrap Up

The Gigabyte Aero 15 is an expensive laptop, to be sure, but it’s packed so full of impressive features that it’s hard to say that the price tag isn’t worth it. Chief among these features is an incredible OLED display, and expansive port selection, and powerful CPU, GPU, and RAM. The refresh rate seems to be a bit lacking, unfortunately, but it should still be enough to ensure smooth gameplay.
