The best laptops for WoW need a good CPU, above all else, which puts the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC in a favorable position. Underneath the hood is an Intel Core i7. Accompanying it is a mid-tier GPU with 4GB of VRAM, along with another 16GB of RAM. Experiencing Azeroth is well within reach. Speaking of favorable position, check out all the contenders for the best gaming laptops around.

Why We Like It – MSI GF75 Thin 9SC

With World of Warcraft relying on CPU the most, the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC’s Intel Core i7-9750H fits right in, with extra help from 16GB of RAM and a fast-acting SSD.

Pros
  • RAM & CPU are above system requirements
  • Can play the latest expansion
  • 512GB SSD
Cons
  • GPU is starting to show its age

Performance & Battery

With a graphics card such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, you’ll definitely be able to play World of Warcraft, and its latest expansion, at medium settings, similar to the HP Omen X’s GTX1660 Ti. The biggest win here is the 9th gen Intel Core i7 and 16GB of RAM, considering WoW tends to be CPU heavy. Depending on your settings, you’re looking at frames between 40-80. But hey, at least the 100% RGB IPS levels will provide some great color accuracy.

Ports, Expandability & Build Quality

Sure, the thin bezel design is nice, but the build quality relies largely on plastic. To circumvent this, the inner cooling system is the MVP. There’s two fans, four exhausts, and seven heatpipes keeping the laptop cool. You’ll be running your games off a fast-acting 512GB NVMe SSD, which will drastically reduce loading times. You can swap storage, and increase RAM up to 64GB. Along the sides are an RJ45, HDMI ([email protected]), a single Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 1, and three Type-A USB 3.2 Gen 1.

Value

MSI gaming laptops on their own are great choices for tackling the entire gaming spectrum. In this case, the MSI GF75 Thin 9SC is a solid choice for experiencing World of Warcraft and its latest expansion. However, its GPU is starting to show its age and may not provide the smoothest performance. For the best performance, you’ll want the Gigabyte Aorus Laptop or the Lenovo Legion Y540.

MSI GF75 Thin 9SC Wrap Up

The MSI GF75 Thin 9SC isn’t the best horse for running World of Warcraft, but it does so well enough to at least play the latest expansion (Shadowlands) on medium settings. Much of the performance comes from the 9th Gen i7, which is great considering WoW relies on your CPU more. And as a bonus, the SSD cuts back on loading times.
