If you were wondering what the best VR ready laptops were, one option that might interest you is the MSI Stealth GS65. Underneath is a 6-core 8th Gen Intel Core i7, followed by 16GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (Max-Q model). It isn’t the beefiest setup, but it’s definitely ready to enjoy the ever growing VR library. And, if you are curious what the best gaming laptops are, all you need to do is check them out.
Why We Like It – MSI Stealth GS65
Ready with a GTX 1060 6GB, 8th Gen Intel Core i7, and 16GB of RAM, the MSI Stealth GS65 can throw its weight around, just as you will when you’re strapped to a VR headset.
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB model)
- 6-core 8th Gen Intel Core processor
- Within recommended specs for Cyberpunk 2077
- Storage is a bit short
Power & Performance
Having a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max Q, an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H, and 16GB of RAM puts you right in the recommended specs for running Cyberpunk 2077 smoothly, in 1080p. Even better: it has 144Hz refresh rate, which makes your gaming experience so smooth, especially if you tweak your settings via MSI’s Dragon Center software.

Battery, Ports & Expandability
You’d expect battery life to be short, but since the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin Laptop is so efficient, despite a powerful setup, that you can get 6 hours straight. However, it’s fitted with a 256GB NVMe SSD, which isn’t the worst, but still a bit short. You can expand RAM and storage, though it’s a pain. Three USB 3.1 ports are available, a Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, Wi Fi, Ethernet, and of course, audio ports for headphones/mic.
Build Quality
The MSI Stealth GS65 is a well-built laptop, given its size. It has very thin bezels, with a chassis that’s metal. It has a nice matte black finish, gilded with golden diamond lines. The keyboard may take some time getting used to, but otherwise will feel good in your hands, as would the Alienware M17.

Value
It’s obvious the MSI Stealth GS65 Gaming Laptops aren’t the best gaming laptops, not with NVIDIA’s latest GPUs out now, but it has more than enough power to play CD Projekt Red’s latest title. However, for the same price you could get a superior Alienware M15, featuring a better GPU and over 1TB of storage. But if you want the premium VR experience, the MSI GT76 Titan is definitely a titan.
MSI Stealth GS65 Wrap Up
Aside from lackluster SSD storage size, the MSI Stealth GS65 is well-equipped for today’s marketplace of video games, including VR. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU is handling a lot, considering it has 6GB on its own. And with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7, you have six cores for multitasking.
