We’re only days away from the Friday, November 22nd Xbox ONE release day. While the pre-order Xbox ONE Day One Edition console is completely sold out everywhere, there are 3 Xbox ONE exclusive titles with “Day One Edition” extras: Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, and Forza Motorsport 5. Additionally, if you pre-order the games from the Microsoft Store prior to the November 22 launch you will get a $10 Xbox Gift Code redeemable on Xbox LIVE (basically more cash in your Xbox account to buy games).
Each “Day One Edition” game comes with its own unique collectible “Day One Edition” case and includes unique content. Wonder what’s in the Ryse: Son of Rome Day One Edition or other Xbox One launch titles? Are these Day One Edition worth the money? The answer is pretty simple depending on when you’ll be buying games for your Xbox One (or heck, if you’re even buying Xbox One on day one). If you’re planning to buy within 30 days, I’d say the bonuses and extra in-game goodies you get are worth it – and this includes any potential upcoming Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals on these three Xbox One titles.
Conversely, if you’re not picking up your Xbox One until much later, or if you’d rather wait for review to spend your hard earn money on games you’ll enjoy — then you might want to wait to see how things pan out ($10 bonus to your account and the other pre-order items are nice but they are moot point if the game isn’t enjoyable).
If you’ve enjoyed Dead Rising 1 or 2, or any of the previous Forza Motorsport series then you probably can’t go wrong with either of those titles. But for new IP such as Ryse: Son of Rome… who knows?
