Design

TP-Link’s Deco M5 mesh systems feature a circular shape with an aesthetically pleasing design. The units will go well with other home appliances and furniture, and are smaller compared to the Netgear Orbi RBK23 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System Router. Each Deco M5 unit can act as an Access Point and connect via the two ethernet ports, or also be used as a router. There are tiny vents at the bottom of the device for heat dissipation. The design is quite different from the S4 version of the TP-Link Deco Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System Router.

Value

Among other mesh Wi-Fi systems in the same price range, the TP-Link Deco M5 does a much better job with range and transfer speeds. The units come with good build quality, small footprint, and are very easy to set up using the Deco app. For security, TP-Link has included its HomeCare services that offer great parent controls, QoS, and powerful Antivirus. Users can also connect the Deco Home Wi-Fi system with Alexa and use voice commands. However, for more coverage area and transfer speeds, the MeshForce Whole Home M3 Wi-Fi System Router is much better.

TP-Link Deco Wrap Up

The TP-Link Deco M5 Wi-Fi systems are a great deal for the price. They offer Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1300Mbps, large coverage area of 5,500 sq.ft., with great security. The Wi-Fi system also features parental controls, and the Deco M5 app makes it easy to set up. The only issue is that the units can get hot due to the heat vents placed at the bottom.
