Power/Heating
Weber Q1200 Portable Grills come with an impressive 8,500 BTUs of power which is almost unheard of for such a little grill. Cooking time on this grill will be less than you expect and preheat time will also pleasantly surprise you. Size/Versatility
The cooking area on the Weber Q1200 is 189 square feet. While this may not sound like a lot compared to larger barbecue models like the Blackstone 36 Stainless Steel Griddle, the Q1200 can actually fit a surprisingly large amount of meat. Easily enough to feed three to four people. The side tables are also very handy when you need to take the grill camping or even tailgating.
Durability
The biggest weakness of the Q1200 is that it weighs 31 pounds, which is very heavy for a portable grill. It weighs almost half of what the Char-Broil Performance 2 Burner does, and that’s a full-size barbecue. But on the plus side, the porcelain-coated cast-iron cooking grates make cleaning a breeze with either soap or a nylon brush, not to mention that it retains heat well too.

Ease of Use
The Q1200 makes grilling simple and fun, something both amateurs and experts should appreciate. The push-button electric ignition starts every single time and is a welcome feature considering most portable grills have you make do with matches. The control burner valve allows you to adjust the flame easily to low, medium, and high, but just be aware that the grill tends to lose heat quickly when the coated cast aluminum lid is open.
Value
The price tag may seem just a little steep, but the Q1200 is a great grill that won’t let you down. It’s also great to note that the Q1200 is quite wind-resistant. High winds won’t cause the flame to go out on any setting nor does it affect lighting the flame, to begin with, and the lid will never just slam shut. I guess all that heftiness does have a plus side after all.
